Built in 1880 by THB Dunnegan Sr. the Dunnegan Mansion has long been a landmark in the Bolivar community. The Dunnegan Brothers were active Bolivar businessmen and civic leaders for many years. Known well by many, the brothers owned and operated Polk County Bank for many years and later founded the Ella Carothers-Dunnegan Gallery of Art with long time business associates and friends Chester and Wanda Wainscott. Since its construction 139 years ago the Dunnegan Mansion has never been for sale. However, the curator and board of the Dunnegan Art Museum have decided to sell the home and its contents at public auction to focus on bringing the beauty of art to the Bolivar and surrounding areas. From original furnishings and antiques to the Steinway Baby Grand Piano this large home is filled with wonderful things that will all be sold to the best bidder. You won’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of Bolivar and Polk County history!
